PrintAbout CNSH
Canadian National Special Hockey (CNSH) is dedicated to providing inclusive hockey opportunities for athletes with developmental disabilities across Canada

Overview of CNSH

Canadian National Special Hockey is an organization that focuses on creating a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities, such as Autism, Down Syndrome, and other conditions that prevent participation in mainstream hockey. CNSH aims to promote physical activity, teamwork, and social interaction through the sport of hockey.

Key Features

Inclusive Programs: CNSH offers programs for male and female athletes aged 5 and up, regardless of their skill level. The focus is on fun and participation rather that competition, ensuring that all athletes feel welcome and valued.

Partnerships: CNSH collaborates with various clubs and organizations, such as Grandravine Special Hockey which was started in 1980 and other organizations in Ontario as far as Nova Scotia with the Nova Scotia Highlanders Special Needs Hockey Club. The CNSH goal is to expand its reach across Canada and provide more opportunities for athletes.

Seasonal Events: Some of our organizations host various events and tournaments throughout the year, allowing athletes to showcase their skills and enjoy the camaraderie of their peers. The current season's details can be found on the CNSH website.

Getting Involved

Athletes interested in joining CNSH programs can find more information under our member teams section on their official website, which includes details about registration, upcoming events and contact information for local clubs. CNSH encourages families, volunteers to participate in supporting these athletes and promoting the values of inclusion and teamwork.
